Pitbull vs Face

[a Sunday to Forget]

A quiet Sunday evening. Loading the family into the car. Dogs through the fence, on the attack and going for the jugular—literally.

It happened suddenly on a quiet Sunday afternoon. While loading his little ones and family dog into the car, two pitbulls broke free from their decrepit enclosure in the neighbor’s yard. The dogs charged toward the victim’s family. He rushed his family safely into the car. Time diminished. The charging dogs neared. Then, dipping to grab the family dog, one of the pitbulls lunged, latching onto the victim’s face and neck.

Danger on the Golf Course

[a Lack of Fore Thought]

A crowded golf tournament. A golf ball cannon shot without thinking. It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt—really hurt.

You probably have never worried about a golf ball traveling over 400 yards to hit you in the head while on the course. But that’s just what happened to one of our clients. The victim was sitting in a cart waiting to tee off while attending a promotional event. A loud popping sound rung out from the previous hole. It was the sound of a golf ball being launched from a vendor’s compressed-air cannon capable of rocketing golf balls over 400 yards. Suddenly the bone-chilling crack of a ball striking the victim’s head emitted from the otherwise peaceful summer air. Only, the victim never heard it. He woke up on the ground in a pool of his own blood.

Risky Rescue

[Dangerous Decision]

A skier lost and found in a raging storm. A fateful decision to risk a flight back despite the risks... No one returns home that night.

A skier trapped by a blizzard, and reported missing by loved ones, was located by search and rescue crews after spending a night on the frozen mountain. Too complicated to haul the skier down the mountain through the growing storm, a medical helicopter was dispatched from a nearby hospital to move the skier to safety—despite the raging blizzard. The brave search and rescue crew successfully loaded the nearly frozen skier onto the helicopter. Then, despite the obvious risks, the helicopter turned into the violent and expanding storm, lost control and crashed into a canyon wall. Sadly, everyone onboard was killed.

Dry Ice Bomb

[Gone Awry]

Kids with a hair-brained scheme. Their dry ice explosion sends a projectile into the eye of a bystander... A new life with one sightless eye.

As the saying goes, kids will be kids. But when juvenile shenanigans cross the line, others tend to get hurt. That’s the case of one of our clients when some youngsters decided to build and set off a dry ice bomb. It all seemed like fun and games until something went terribly wrong. When the improvised explosive detonated, the cap shot off, striking a bystander in the eye with such force it ruptured. He was left permanently blind by the teens’ intentional antics.
